The Springfield Soccer Club is based upon the model used by professional clubs throughout the world. All decisions are based with the best interest of soccer and player development in mind. The Board of Directors supports the Director of Soccer Operations who oversees the day to day operations of the club, including the full-time staff of Directors and Coaching Staff.
Youth Academy
The foundation of any successful soccer club around the world is found within its’ youth development program. The beginning program for players in the Springfield Soccer Club is the Youth Academy. Based upon the premise that playing the game of soccer is the best way to learn it, players are placed into an environment where they play small-sided games and focus on individual technical skills.
U9-14 Junior Program
Teams start to become a bit more of a focus here in this age group, while still maintaining a strong focus on player development. Players are placed into team/player pools where continuing to learn how to play the game and mastering individual technical skills are the main focus. Exposure to tournaments and outside league competition also begins at these ages. Teams typical participate in the following tournaments, Clorox Cup, Metro Fall Classic, Champions Challenge, LCS Fall Classic, KC Select Mother’s Day, Tony Glavin Spring Classic, and many others.
U15-19 Senior Program
Teams and players are now focused on team success and exposure to the highest levels of competition within the Midwest and United States. Player development is continued here as the ability to get players to the next level is a primary goal. College exposure is obtained by attending the highest level of college showcases in the nation. Teams typically at these ages participate in the Heartland League in Kansas City, Midwest Regional League and Metro United College Showcase, TSC Sam Shannon Showcase, Polo Showcase, Disney Soccer Showcase, Score at the Shore (FL), Showcase of the South and the College Search Kickoff.
U20 & 23 Program
During the summer months the Springfield Soccer Club is home for some of the top soccer players from throughout the Midwest. Players and teams compete against clubs/teams from Illinois, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. This provides the Alumni from the Springfield Soccer Club an opportunity to play high level soccer during the summer months in a professional environment where they can continue their development before returning to college soccer.
